Course Description: This course invites middle school students into the storyline of the Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—a living narrative of God’s love and redemption. Through readings, class discussions, and foundational study skills, students will see Scripture as a life-giving story that speaks meaningfully today. Emphasis is placed on reading Scripture in context to discern its true message and applying God Word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Students will also reflect on how their own stories are woven into God’s ongoing work of redemption.
Course Objectives:
- Explore the overarching storyline of Scripture to understand God’s redemptive plan.
- Develop foundational Bible study skills to discern the meaning of a passage by reading Scripture in its historical, cultural, and literary context.
- Recognize key themes, characters, and events that connect the Old and New Testaments into a unified story of God’s love and purpose.
- Cultivate a lasting joy and love for reading the Bible.
