Scott Gorte
My name is Scott Gorte and I am excited to teach at RCA; what a blessing and a challenge to teach our youth! My wife and I homeschooled our daughter and recognize the importance of empowering our youth to be ready for the challenges this world brings. I am a passionate follower of our risen Lord and Saviour Jesus and deeply thankful for His grace.
Originally, I am from Michigan, born and raised just outside of Detroit. I have an undergraduate degree in Economics from Oakland University and a graduate degree in International Finance from Walsh College. My professional career started in banking, and I then moved to EDS before a stint at Ford Motor Company in various finance roles. Nissan then offered me a great opportunity when they relocated to Nashville 20 years ago. With Nissan I have been blessed to work in a variety of roles, most recently leading a cross functional team tasked with generating new, incremental revenue for the Sales Finance division, operating in an entrepreneurial manner within the umbrella of a traditional corporation.
My wife and I recently celebrated our 34th year of marriage and have one daughter, who is married to a wonderful follower of Christ, lives locally and has one daughter who we get to spend much time with, a true blessing. My outside interests include reading (primarily history, all time periods), studying the Bible, attempting to re-start my golf and tennis games (good luck), traveling and listening for the prompting of the Holy Spirit and going where He leads and directs.
