8th Grade Math (Pre-Algebra)

Students will be taught pre-algebraic concepts such as irrational numbers; properties of integer exponents; scientific notation; estimating irrational numbers; square and cube roots; linear equations in one variable; slope-intercept form of a graph; analyzing systems of linear equations; introduction to functions; graphing linear and nonlinear functions; triangle sum theory, similar triangles, and Pythagorean theorem; rotations, reflections, and translations; volume of cones, cylinders, and spheres; scatter plots; and probability of compound events.

Required Material:

  • 2 – Two ring binder with pockets
  • A 10 divider packet for binder
  • Loose leaf paper
