AP US Government is a one-semester course offered in the second/Spring semester.  It is mostly taken for college credit, depending on the exam score and particular institution.  In this course, students examine the foundations of American Government, political beliefs, political parties, the framework and powers of the three branches of federal government, and American civil rights and liberties.  The study of the United States Constitution, in addition to other primary source documents and visuals are key features of this course.  Students will become familiar with the format of the AP Government exam throughout the semester, as they have ample opportunity to practice answering sample questions and respond to essay topics.
