This course is designed to help the student understand the basic principles of geometry, including, but not limited to: congruence; similar figures; proving geometric theorems; understanding geometric properties; transformations; using tools (compass, straightedge, string, etc.) to precisely construct geometric objects; properties of a right triangle; parallel and perpendicular lines; calculating perimeter, area, volume, and surface area; trigonometric ratios; sectors and arcs of circles; two-column proofs; and graphing of quadratic equations and functions.
